Project Thought Process
Learning | Understanding | Applying
Project Based Learning is one of the methods that I may say makes learning valuable. Students, or people in general have their own interests and skills that can be used in various ways and most of the time. Though people often see school and classroom lessons as a simple "stage" in life, us educator sees it as the first step in self realization of our students in their future careers.

Project Formulation
"Wh-" is important
Formulate "Wh-" questions:
-
What do you want to learn/understand?
-
Why would it be important?
-
Who can help you or the cause that you want to address?
-
Which process or procedure can you follow or formulate to address it.
-
What learning resource do I have to make this possible?
1
Investigative Webbing
(Project Representation)
This enables the learners see the bigger picture of their projects.
Investigative webbing can be done to relate learning competencies and formulate project representation for it. This step relates and omits specific competencies/topics that can or cannot be used for the project.
2
Project Execution
(and Presentation)
Execution of the of the formulated projects planned. Documentation is also part, included are all researches papers, and AV output.
Presentation on the other hand is the demonstration of the project and how did it answer the "wh-" questions. Did the project come through? Was it finished? Was it effective? Did it make a difference?

When thinking of a project that can be applied by our students/, we plan it by two different strategies:
Theme Based Project
Theme based to thematic project is when the "theme" or aim of the project is already given. The planning stage then is how can each subject area be applied to the chosen theme.
Interest Based Project
Interest based project is when the students are the ones who choose and apply their skills and interest. Planning stage here is on how does each subject area be applied to what they want and what they do.
Though planning may look the same, the difference is what do we want our students to focus on and on what extent of support will we give to our students. Based on the application of either project type, both has their equal share of learning (for the students) and support (for the teachers).
